Tim Sheridan Easily Wins the California Democratic Party’s Pre-Endorsement in the 42nd Congressional District – January 31, 2016

January 31, 2016

Tim Sheridan, the 2014 California Democratic Party’s nominee for Congress in California’s 42nd District, easily won the CDP Pre-Endorsement vote yesterday afternoon in the 2016 race for the seat. Sheridan earned all 33 votes that were cast at the Region 13 Pre-Endorsement Conference in San Bernardino.

“Needless to say,” Sheridan said, “I’m humbled by the support I have received from the leaders of the Democratic Party in the 42nd.”

The CDP runs the Pre-Endorsement Conference prior to the state convention every two years. Any candidate who garners more than 70% of the votes cast in a Congressional, State Senate or State Assembly District earns a spot on the Convention’s Consent Calendar. Earning a spot on the Consent Calendar virtually guarantees that that the California Democratic Party will endorse the candidate.

Sheridan said that he credits his campaign team for the overwhelming support that the campaign received.

“As we did in 2014, we will work hard and run a strong campaign to bring change to California’s 42nd Congressional District,” Sheridan added.

California’s 42nd Congressional District, a geographical area shaped like the letter “X,” runs along the I-15 corridor from Eastvale, southeast to Temecula, and northeast along the I-215 and CA 79 corridors to Beaumont. It also includes the communities of Corona, Norco, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Murrieta, Menifee, Sun City, Winchester, Homeland and Nuevo. Mr. Sheridan lives in Lake Elsinore.
