Councilmember Tim Sheridan was first elected to the Lake Elsinore City Council in November 2018. Tim was reelected in 2022. After serving two years on the Council, his colleagues appointed him to serve as Mayor Pro Tem for the 2021 term. He became Mayor in December 2021 and served through December 2022.

Tim is a graduate of State University of New York/Oswego, The University of Akron School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor, and Georgetown University Law Center where he earned a LL.M. (Legal Masters) in labor/employment law in 1998. Tim has worked for the National Treasury Employees Union since 1996 – first in the Negotiations Department in Washington DC and afterward as a National Field Representative in California.

Tim grew up in a middle-class family in Syracuse, New York. His father, a Teamster,  worked for Continental Bakery and drove Wonder Bread and Hostess Cakes trucks.  His mom worked various jobs in the local school system and later for United Parcel Service.

Tim has two siblings – a sister, who lives in Central New York with her husband and her daughter, and a brother Thomas who passed away at age 21 in April 1992 of Leukemia.  Tim’s dad, Philip, passed away in October 1996. Tim’s mom, Jackie, who is retired, lives in New York.

While Tim was in college, he worked as on-air talent on various radio stations in Central New York, including working as the voice of the Fulton (NY) High School Red Raiders football team. Last summer, in 2022, while serving as Mayor of Lake Elsinore, Tim broadcast four Lake Elsinore Storm Minor League Baseball games on MiLB.com, including the Storm’s first ever no-hit game against the Inland Empire 66er’s at Diamond Stadium in Lake Elsinore.

While in law school, Tim interned at the district offices of Congressman Tom Sawyer – who represented Ohio’s 14 District from 1987 through 2003. While interning with Congressman Sawyer, he saw firsthand how a well-run Congressional district office works and why such an office is so important for constituent services.

To that end, Tim is committed to prioritizing constituent services when he is elected to Congress.  Moreover, as he has in his role as a member of the Lake Elsinore Council, he will be in the community.  In fact, he has pledged that he will be readily accessible by holding regular Town Hall meetings – just like he did as Mayor.

Tim is married to Debbie and his stepdaughter Brie lives in Texas with her husband Daniel Ramirez.

Tim is an avid bowler and shot a sanctioned 298 game in 2001 and again on March 1, 2015 at Cal Oaks Bowl in Murrieta.  He currently bowls in the Hi Rollers Sunday night league at Cal Oaks.  He is also a baseball fan and was a season ticket holder with the San Diego Padres for a number of years.  He also follows the Dodgers, Angels, Cleveland Guardians, Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Clippers.
